Minister of Communications
Oscar Aguad is Minister of Communications since December 2015. His administration places a strong emphasis in developing IT and Communications to guarantee the Argentine people have access to fixed and mobile telephone services, internet, audiovisual communications and postal services with maximum quality, diversity, competition and multiplicity.
He started his political career at a very young age as a member of the Radical Civic Union Party (UCR). He served as Secretary General and Government Secretary at the Government of the City of Córdoba. He was a member of the Board of Directors of La Voz del Interior Group and member of the National University of Cordoba Foundation.
In 2005 and 2010, he was elected legislator for the province of Córdoba. His parliamentary work comprises more than 90 draft laws, including: suspension of the effects of resolution 125, derogation of export tariffs for agricultural products, protection of the judicial independence, creation of the federal compensation fund for federal tax revenue sharing, promotion and development of technological innovation, and tax reform.
He has also authored numerous publications and essays on legal issues, transformation of the State, government ethics, independence of the judicial system, modernization of government, role of prevention in security policies, energy system.
Aguad has a law degree from the National Law and Social Sciences School of the University of Cordoba, specialized in Criminal, Economic, Tax and Correctional Law.
