CEO, Santander Rio
Since the purchase of Banco Río de la Plata by Santander Group from Spain in August 1997, Enrique Cristofani has been the Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of Banco Santander Río Argentina.
Previously, he worked at J.P. Morgan & Co. Incorporated Buenos Aires in the Corporate Finance unit. In 1984, he was transferred to Madrid to be Unit Head of Corporate Finance and, in 1988, he became Head of Equities. In 1992, he returned to J.P. Morgan Buenos Aires and was appointed member of the Managing Committee.
In 1992, he joined Grupo Santander as Managing Director and Country Manager for Banco Santander Río and Santander Investment, respectively.
Cristofani graduated as an accountant and BA from Universidad de Buenos Aires.
