Engineer (University of Buenos Aires). He graduated from Colegio Nacional de Buenos Aires’s secondary school.
Between 2007 and 2015 he was Minister of Culture of Buenos Aires City and from 2007 to 2011President of the Ente Turismo of Buenos Aires City. Previously, he was National Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports of Argentina and Secretary of Tourism of Buenos Aires City (1999-2001). He served as Professor at the University of Buenos Aires and President of the Center for Engineering Students in the years 1982, 1983 and 1984.
During his administration as Minister of Culture, it can be highlighted the nomination and registration of Tango as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO (2009), the designation of Buenos Aires as World Book Capital by the Intergovernmental Committee of UNESCO (2011) and the incorporation of the Filete Porteño to the Heritage Inmmaterial list of UNESCO (2015).
