Alexandre Bettamio

President of Latin America, Bank of America Merrill Lynch

Alexandre Bettamio is the President of Latin America for Bank of America Merrill Lynch.  He was named to the role in 2013 and leads the entire firm’s efforts across the region. He is also a member of the Global Banking and Markets Leadership Team.

Bettamio joined the bank as Head of Investment Banking of Brazil in 2008 and in September of the same year he was named President of Bank of America Merrill Lynch for the country. 

Previously, he was the Co-Head of UBS Pactual’s Investment Banking unit where he worked for 13 years. Bettamio also worked for Salomon Brothers Bank in the New York Latam group and for Citibank in Brazil.  Prior to that, he was with the international tax department of Price Waterhouse in San Francisco and São Paulo.

With over 20 years of vast experience covering the financial markets, Bettamio has led numerous IPO transactions and debt issuances in the international markets as well as, he has also advised several M&A transactions and privatization processes.

He received his law degree from Mackenzie University and is a member of Brazilian Bar.
