CEO & Co-founder, AgroZone
Fernando Derossi is the CEO and Co-Founder of AgroZone - “Big Data Big Yields”, a Boston based startup born at MIT, focused on software and data science solutions for agriculture. AgroZone integrates machine learning, predictive analytics, and crop health image recognition technology on an online platform with the ultimate goal of optimizing farmers' decision making processes for minimizing their crop losses and maximizing yield.
Derossi has extensive experience in agribusiness, finance and technology. He has worked at Syngenta Agro and BASF Agro Division in various business leadership roles throughout Latin America. Before his career in AgroScience, he worked in Consumer Finance at GE Capital and in Internet product development at Yellow Pages, Telefonica, successfully managing over his career, cross-functional teams, international strategic projects and portfolio optimization.
Derossi gained his MBA at MIT Sloan School of Management. During his studies he participated in several entrepreneurship competitions such as MIT 100K and MIT Sandbox Innovation Fund from the College of Engineering and won important distinctions.
He also completed a Certificate Program from INSEAD Business School, a Master in Strategic Marketing Management at UCES, and studied Communications obtaining his degree from UAI with a thesis about the “Impact of Leadership in highly performant teams”.
